Kinga's Reading

One Day - David Nicholls Despite my aversion to overly-popular books, I really did enjoy this one. It gets a bit predictable in places and the characters are a little glib at times, but the plot moves nicely and I liked the suspense at the end of each chapter. The structure of the chapters and the once-a-year updates were really quite good, as well. SPOILER BIT BELOW!!But I sort of knew that bad things would happen with 70 pages to go because, as I said to my husband, nobody does a happy ending and then writes about that for 70 more pages. So, it's good for a while and then it goes bad again (that's not revealing too much I hope).
